How to Set Up Your Phone Safely for Delivery Work

Delivery work depends heavily on navigation and communication, but a phone should never become a distraction behind the wheel. A simple setup can keep the device useful while reducing unnecessary handling.

Choose a stable mounting position

Use a mount that holds the phone securely and does not block your view of the road, mirrors, controls, or required vehicle displays. Make sure the mount fits your vehicle and device before relying on it for a full shift.

Set the route before moving

Enter the destination, review the route, and start navigation while safely parked. If a route needs to be changed, pull over safely before making adjustments.

Keep charging simple

Route cables so they do not interfere with steering, pedals, the gear selector, or airbags. A short, dependable cable and vehicle charger can reduce clutter.

Use voice features where appropriate

Hands-free voice guidance can reduce the need to look at or touch the phone. Keep volume high enough to hear instructions without drowning out important road sounds.

Prepare for weak service

When your navigation app allows it, download offline maps for areas where signal can be unreliable. Also keep important addresses or instructions available without depending entirely on a live connection.

Keep the screen focused

Turn off unnecessary notifications during driving time. A navigation screen should show the information you need, not constant alerts from social media or unrelated apps.
